Overview:
One week of basecamp-style skiing in the mighty Alaska Range.
From the beginning of our trip until the end, all logistics will be taken care of, including: round-trip ground transportation between Anchorage & Talkeetna, one night lodging pre-flight onto the glacier, round-trip flights into basecamp, food while on the glacier, group gear, and 4-season tents (shared between two people).
Participants are responsible for: flights to and from Alaska, any extra lodging (before/during/after), food while not on the glacier, personal equipment, Denali National Park fee ($15), travel/ rescue insurance (recommended), costs from unplanned departures out of our control (weather, conditions, flights, etc.), and guide gratuities.
Itinerary:
April 19: Meet in Anchorage & shuttle to Talkeetna
April 20: Fly to glacier, set up camp, review glacier skills
April 21-25: Morning planning meeting over breakfast, ski tour, dinner back at base camp
April 26: Pack up camp after breakfast, fly to Talkeetna, shuttle back to Anchorage
* Weather and flying conditions are out of our control and may change the itinerary, including flying out a day or more later.
Difficulty:
Advanced skiing with a strong resume or previous participation on a trip with Aaron or Trevor.
Winter camping experience
High level of fitness with back-to-back tours of 3-5K ft.
